Ok, #CoSoGardening Crew: Don't laugh. I've never grown carrots. First time. These are my new seedlings. I've never paid attention. Carrots grow in groups right? So is each green sprig the beginning of a cluster of carrots, or a single one? These are rainbow carrots. Not that that matters. Unless it does. 😅
@JeSsA carrots are best planted directly in the soil. they need to be spaced about 1/2" apart to start then thinned to 2" apart . They likely won't transplant well from those pots. Best way to grow is in rows 12" apart and seeds sown 1/4 " deep - seed heavily then after they break ground thin.
@NorthernInvader Perfect, thank you so much! The garden is huge, plenty of space. Has anyone ever grown them in containers? Is that as thing? Just curious!
@NorthernInvader that's awesome!! How does the thinning work, if they're not fond of transplant?
@JeSsA you go through your row and remove enough so that the remainder are 2 inches apart. Put the ones you removed in your compost bin :)
