Ok, Crew: Don't laugh. I've never grown carrots. First time. These are my new seedlings. I've never paid attention. Carrots grow in groups right? So is each green sprig the beginning of a cluster of carrots, or a single one? These are rainbow carrots. Not that that matters. Unless it does. 😅

@JeSsA you have to thin them to several inches apart or they won't grow carrots. how many seeds per starter pot did you use?
short answer: you don't want grouped carrot seedlings

@redenigma tbh I just kinda threw like 5 in because the seeds were so damn tint and usually I don't have luck with tiny seeds germinating. I've got plenty of extra pods, or a bigger pot I can move in to. Does 1 seedling produce a cluster of carrots? The seed pack was not helpful

@JeSsA one seed, one carrot. ideally you sow them directly in the ground. they're not fond of being transplanted.
plant them about 3" apart.

@JeSsA no, one seedling produces one carrot. you may be able to separate the seedlings while they're tiny into individual deep pots (carrots can get 7-12" long). they need to be 3-4" apart at least.

@JeSsA beet seeds sprout clusters of seedlings, but carrots don't.

@JeSsA when you sow carrots in a garden/raised bed, you mix the seeds with fine sand in order to avoid seed clumping & cut down on thinning.

@redenigma ohh lawd, Who knew they were such divas to grow! I sure didn't! I think I'm gunna chance them just going in the ground
