The law which the Arizona Supreme Court, in its unspeakable wisdom, has decided has valid sway over the lives of every woman in the state, was enacted decades before Arizona became a state and when it had just barely become a territory: when its governor was a presidential appointee, and its legislature consisted of 27 white men elected by a few hundred white men.
