Alaska U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski wins reelection
Murkowski beat Trump-backed challenger Kelly Tshibaka by more than seven points after ranked choice votes were tabulated.

Again, ranked voting achieved the most moderate candidate.
Murkowski (her father is an Alaskan political legend) was almost assured of winning because she won before as an independent due to ranked voting.

Rep. Mary Peltola wins Alaska’s U.S. House race
Mary Peltola, a Democrat and the first Alaska Native elected to Congress, on Wednesday won reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives, defeating Republican challengers Sarah Palin and Nick Begich.

As a former Alaskan, I'm thrilled ranked voting worked as well as it did.
#politics Maybe politics, maybe more about social media. I read Wired there's an online article about the steady growth of Truth Social and a comparison to compared to Mastodon.
Particularly interested in how many TS subscribers believe the news there is accurate.
I'm hoping that this article is free to read, but since I subscribe I'm not entirely sure.
#recovery I rarely post about my kid. This article went international and I wanted to post it here as well because: Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (neuromuscular), plus addiction recovery.
Knowledge is power. Maybe some one you know has it.
There as many people with CMT in the US as there are on CoSo.
It's getting more media coverage since Alan Jackson came forward about having it.
Oh, BTW, Laura's my hero for so many reasons.

If anyone here likes audiobooks, Audible is having a big sale for the next week or so. I just found out a few minute ago.
I listen to a lot of audiobooks since I can do chores and listen at the same time.
#cosomusic What comes right after Nat King Cole? New York, New York by Sinatra. Man, Mom must be guiding the music tonight. 👻 😉 🎤
#photography #cosomusic Nat King Cole "That Autumn Leaves" which seems to go with the image. Let's see if they both manage to post simultaneously. (My mother loved this old song.)
See you all later. I have to start abusing the keyboard again. 😜 @CoSoFam #writingcommunity
I am often amazed by how many steps one has to go through to achieve something that should, on the face of things, be simple.
Step 1 ✔️
Step 2 ✔️

Greg Bear died yesterday. He's one of the authors who helped found Comic Con. He was an amazing author.
Just got off a Zoom conference with David Gerrold & other authors who commented what a great person he was.

#dogofcoso My geriatric pup went in on sick call to rule out problems other than her allergies making her itchy. She got a good going over by the vet and we talked about how she's got "old lady eyes" but can still see, how her hearing is fading, and how some days she's not interested in eating. But she still enjoys life, and that's all that counts.
One allergy shot later and we're home.
I love that our vet is open 7 days a week.
A feel good dog story with a happy ending.

I’ll never understand ppl who fly the Confederate flag or do reconstitutions. Wtf? You lost.
Seriously my great-great-grandpa fought for the union at 16 and was at both The Wilderness and Spotsylvania courthouse, where he lost his hand. Do people have ANY idea how brutal both of those battles were?
I live in Quebec City. We lost to the battle of the Plaines. Reconstituons aren’t allowed. It wasn’t about slavery either. We’re still not proud of losing that battle 260+ years ago ffs 1/
