@MookyTroubadour @JV3MJD absolutely right. Thousands of babies starved to death in Africa because of nestle. They gave free formula to mothers long enough for their milk to dry up and then charged them for it, but most of those mothers were very poor and many of them couldn't afford the formula. There was a huge boycott and Nestle knuckled under. However, recently they started doing it again as far as I know they still are.
@DavidKMresists @MookyTroubadour @JV3MJD the biggest problem with the Nestle formula in Africa is it's powder mixed with water... and the babies were dying of cholera & other water borne diseases, because there is very limited clean water, and the mothers were never told the water needed to be sterilized
@redenigma @MookyTroubadour @JV3MJD I did not know that, all these years. Unless I forgot.
@JV3MJD i thought Nestle was Swiss...

@JV3MJD 😡
@JV3MJD Et tu, Ben & Jerry's? Oh right. Unilever ate them. They're not Ben & Jerry's any more. Actually, most of those companies are just subsidiaries of larger companies. I think what we're seeing here is a very small number of wealthy people who own corporations that own lots of other corporations. So a handful of people are exercising the level of power and influence of multiple companies - and of millions of people. Seems a might skewed, eh?
@JV3MJD you just KNEW Nestle would be on this list. Few companies are shittier than Nestle.
