I’m a substitute teacher, and the one thing that drives me (and the involved kids) most insane is…teachers/staff who don’t list those kids’ preferred names on the attendance sheet. It may seem like a little thing, but when “Allison” chooses to identify as “Johnny,” I would prefer not to further disrespect or embarrass that child because of omitted (sometimes intentionally) information. We must demand better.
