This is why I like this platform better. I CANNOT believe I just had to say this on or even all. It is infuriating how so many people lack compassion for others that are struggling.

@awnaves so so true. We used to go to the library for everything growing up. It didn’t even occur to me that would’ve applied to that convo. You have great perspective.

@ItsmeKC1234 Libraries are a modern sanctuary for many unsheltered people. They can read, use computers to find help, use the wifi, or just have someplace to be. Many places criminalize being homeless so the library protects them from arrest for just standing too long in the wrong place and gives them a reprieve from the elements in cold and rain. Libraries give downtrodden people a place to feel accepted and hopeful that they can get to a better place.
