To my fellow Liberals and to those of you who call yourselves Progressives.
Why is it okay to protect thieves and other criminals from legal action? Why do Progressives, in particular, seem to feel it is okay to put in place laws that allow shoplifting, purse snatching, etc.?
Am I the only one who thinks this is very misguided?
Shouldn't the law-abiding citizens of any state feel safe and that their government will catch and prosecute those who would prey on them?
Can you show where these laws are in place?
@Flyingdutchman696 NY, for example, now has laws that make any theft under $1000 a misdemeanor. This has encouraged theft, so much so that chain stores are closing in a lot of areas that really need them because of the immense amount of theft.
@Iskios @Flyingdutchman696 That's odd, because usually the opposite happens when you make laws like that. What else is happening there?
