I pray
For they who are hungry
For they who thirst
For they who burn under the Summer sun
Working and toiling for scraps
I pray and I plead
That you, O Goddess, be kind to them
That you, O Olympian, give them sustenance
That you, O Demeter, teach them new ways
So that their toil is fruitful
I pray
Demeter
I plead
Demeter
I ask
Demeter
Do not turn from them
Do not let the suffer more
Do not allow my words to be in vain
I pray
O Goddess of the grain
Teach them your ways
