I am becoming more and more disillusioned with social media as a concept.
@AskTheDevil oh, I know. I am not completely negative about social media, but giant corporations with intentions to profit from our data has corrupted the original intent of social media.
@Iskios Agreed. I remember when there were a jillion personal pages and subculture forums that were hosted directly by people and communities and not walled services like reddit.
I miss threaded forums, too.
@Iskios I miss forums. They were more specific to ones interests and at least the ones I frequented, well moderated.
Coso is the best alternative imo.
@Razdawg22 I like CoSo and the Misskey/Sharkey servers. I also miss chat rooms. Not the big ass ones on Discord, but the smaller more local ones.
@Iskios I dislike the concept of social media which is accepted by the mainstream, but more and more appreciate CoSo.
