Mother of dragons and one hundred handed beasts that shake the very foundations of the world

Gaia be praised

Mother of mountains and their snowcapped peaks that reach for the very heavens themselves

Gaia be praised

Mother of caverns and the dark and lonely realm where souls go to be cleansed for rebirth

Gaia be praised

Mother of heaven and the starry realm above in which all things move and life and death play their eternal game

Gaia be praised

@Iskios It's not eternal once life is dead.

Gaia isn't going to save everyone from being dead.

We're part of her. _We_ are Gaia, and we're busily ripping our own lungs out, putting poison into our own bloodstream, and filling our own brain with madness, while we eat and enslave our own young.

Cure humanity, heal the world.

@AskTheDevil the divinity that is Gaia is eternal, but this mortal manifestation of that power is not.

@Iskios No, she dies when the life on the planet does. There won't be anyone to run "Gaia" on.

@AskTheDevil Well, seeing as these things are a matter of belief, we could be debating over nothing. But the very forces that make up the cosmos are, in their own way, divine, and thus they could be the Gods themselves. But there is no sense in arguing over something none of us can prove.

@Iskios I always argue against any form of "nature is eternal" or "gaia is immortal", because there's no good reason to believe those things, and because they often seem to be said because people don't want to believe that the dire damage we're doing to the Earth is _really_ going to kill the planet.

But that's what's happening on our watch.

I've said my piece, there.
