@InUnfunky Drew Carey sold it pretty hard at the Sphere.
@InUnfunky as the two resident phish fans on coso, @WendyForbes and I are gonna try rigging this poll. lol 😂
@Loffreni thanks for the heads up 😂 @InUnfunky
@InUnfunky
😂🤣
Also, Cinni —
I didn’t thread the Phish poll (not punny) with the Drew C thing cuz guilt by association is like SO uncool n’ stuff. 😎
But you did it, and that’s okay. I still think YOU’RE cool. I know how relieved you must be. 🙄😏
@InUnfunky
lol, thanks Trey. I was over here very worried you might not. 😂🤣
I have no idea of a single Phish song even if I have heard of the group. I want to see the Sphere so that interested me.
Whew 💁🏻♀️
Cannot name a single song of theirs.
@InUnfunky @CinnamonGirlE @grayman who even are you all with this ‘I don’t know any of their songs’ nonsense!?!? 🤣
@Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
OH SHIT HERE WE GO 😱😏
@Loffreni I’m totally cool with this. It’s hard enough to get tickets to their shows now. Imagine if they were quote-unquote, popular. 😼 @InUnfunky @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
@WendyForbes @Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
But lolz, aren't they WAY past the point of being THAT cult band?
🤔🤓
The other funny thing about being in the SE VT/W MA area is that someone ALWAYS claims to know one of the guys...or know someone who knows one of the guys, so ticket talk is always SEEMS to be "Oh, don't worry, my brah will hook us up. Wanna go to Mansfield, no worries. Text me later." That's an actual quote -- almost -- btw, from the kitchen manager to another fan. 😀
@InUnfunky @WendyForbes @Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
I was in a used record store a while back and stood in the checkout line behind a guy buying a 6 disc vinyl Phish concert set, for $395.
I thought that was a little excessive.
@tgraph52 @WendyForbes @Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
"Whoa...which one was it, bruh?"
😆
@InUnfunky @WendyForbes @Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
I didn't pay that close attention. Not a fan. At all.
@WendyForbes @Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
Here's the summer tour if anyone's interested. 😉
@InUnfunky I’m sure some people still have an in but it’s not like it was in the ‘90s. Which in a lot of ways is a good thing. Trey Anastasio being still alive for one. I think he hit the nail one the head in his CBS interview when he said something to the effect of… there our bands who would love to be as successful in being so unsuccessful as Phish. @Loffreni @CinnamonGirlE @grayman
Trey Anastasio has yet to learn restraint and when NOT to play.
@InUnfunky In honor of your poll. I was at Sphere all 4 nights. Everyone there definitely was a nay. 😜
@tgraph52 Those look like aftermarket prices. I know there were scalpers selling them for that much while we were there but those are not the on sale day prices. @InUnfunky
I saw those as the prices from Vivid Seats, a verified secondary market ticketing platform
I'm glad you get in for less.
I know I was pissed when I had to pay $8 to see the G Dead in the 70s
@tgraph52 Yeah. If you don’t buy them direct it always gets crazy. They were $183 a ticket the day they went on pre-sale to Phish’s email list and they were all gone in minutes. Still not cheap. Phish tickets are usually about half that depending on the venue. @InUnfunky
"There are 17,500 seats inside the Sphere, every one of which will be filled with a Phish fan this week, along with about 2,500 standing on the floor. The seats use haptic technology, so every bass line and drum kick from the band can be felt from your chair — for those actually sitting and not standing up and dancing"
~
I'm old and cranky... That's not for me at any price.
@tgraph52 It took us all a couple nights to actually realize they were using the haptics. Sitting at a Phish show is rare but we are all getting a bit long in the tooth so sometimes you need a break. The breaks in this case were surprising. Bass and drums offer a good chair massage. @InUnfunky
from 1959:
""Percepto!" was a gimmick where Castle attached electrical "buzzers" to the underside of some seats in theaters where The Tingler was screened to provide "tingling" sensations during certain scenes. The buzzers were small surplus airplane wing deicing motors left from World War II."
Read about this in King's "Danse Macabre"...I think. 🤔 🤓
@InUnfunky Sure -- why the hell not? 😁
