Daphnis et Chloé is one of my favorite classical pieces.
As you can tell by the back cover of the cd set...it's been "well loved." I listened to nothing but these cds for almost a year. Taped 'em from disc to cassette for the car, too. Even more fanatic? Named a kid with a moniker that rhymes with "Ravel."
Boulez was born to conduct Ravel, btw.
I blame Frank Zappa.
A bunch of years ago I got to see it performed at the Ordway theater in St. Paul... A Huge orchestra with chorus. Pretty cool.
