Yeah, I know. I cringe a bit when the Dan is labeled as such...but when you're trying to entertain your fellow cooks and the occasional FOH person who comes back into the asylum to grab their orders, well, iTunes playlists ain't too shabby! ๐
I hear you. Here's some consolation for putting up with my nonsense just now:
Did I ever tell you about the time I lived with not 1, BUT 2 bass players?
So yeah, this was on A LOT.
Really.
A LOT.
๐
No, you didn't, but as a musician myself, I've lived with some interesting folks who sometimes ran pieces of music into the ground. Urgh.
Well, thatโs about perfect, especially Christopher Cross ๐
Shocking how much of that material certain people can put up with.
Again, about two hours of that trip down nostalgia lane and even the most hardcore of yacht rockers among us would beg for something less saccharine and occasionally downright creepy. ๐ค
I BLAME '70's/'80s Top 40!
๐
I can handle about 30 minutes of late 70โs, early 80โs pop nostalgia and then something in me breaks. ๐
No pop pablum for me, thanks ... There are a handful of 'Top 40' songs I didn't mind so much back in the '60s and '70s, but it's really not my cuppa.
Guilty pleasures, what can I say?
Don't hold the 2 hours of such against me and the rest of the crew. Or -- just blame me. I'll take the fall.

From Donald Fagen, one of my favourite Xmess songs, since you mentioned 'yacht rock':
