@Pepstar

You saw FZ and XTC???

Jealous!

XTC stopped touring in '82 and Zappa never made it back to FL (home state) after '84. Argh!

@InUnfunky I seem to be the doomer of bands. I saw Zeppelin on their last tour, XTC on their last tour, The Jam on their last tour. Zappa was a birthday gift from my brother. FZ actually played on my BD in Berkeley, CA.

@Pepstar

The Jam too, huh? Rub it in, why dontcha. Was the XTC gig opening for The Police?

FZ played Berkeley 2x that year; this is the show that (bits of) wound up on “Tinseltown Rebellion,” etc —

@InUnfunky Not to rub it in even more but The Jam greeted fans after the show, knowing it was their goodbye and signed autographs. XTC headlined, Wall of Voodoo opened. It was another B-Day show, California Hall in SF, April 2, 1981. When I saw The Police, they headlined with Pretenders opening (Halloween Show). Thanks for the FZ clip!

@Pepstar Badass! Nah, I’m over my jealousy now — a few years gone and the other coast, what can I do? 🤓

@InUnfunky OH and I was at this show in May 1981...the first tour by this little known band, LOL. There were 3 shows at California Hall within days of each other and I could only afford 2. U2, Madness and Split Enz. I didn't see Split Enz but I really wanted too!
