Also, does anybody else see that song as a classic example of weaponized incompetence on Henry's part?

I swear, Liza's chillin' in the sun in her comfy rocking chair, & Henry comes around bothering her endlessly about how to fix a FUCKING BUCKET.

Anybody remember the song, "There's a Hole in the Bucket"?

Yeah. It's like that.

Moving into a place is a bit like those songs about how Johnny is trying to build a house but he needs X tool first, then needs Y object to get X tool, then Z tool to make Y object, etc. etc. etc...

Meanwhile, there's a massive glut of book boxes clogging up the living room, for books that have no home yet.

I ordered metal replacements, due tomorrow, at least.

& the blinds look great, got the mounting hardware with 'em, but no screws. So we can't hang the blinds.

We have blankets tacked up over the windows. Looks SO janky.

I ordered blinds & bookshelves from Ikea. Got 'em just fine, but turns out Ikea has made some design decisions, probably cost-driven.

The cam-lock nuts are now plastic instead of metal. They broke, so we can't put the shelves together until we get replacements.

OMG I have a HUGE headache right about now.

All the big furniture items and most of the boxes are here. There's a few stray items still at the old apartment, but we have about 14 days to get all of those, so it's OK.

Welp - I'm pretty much all moved in to my new house!

I just had a 2nd cup of coffee. Caffeinated this time. It amazes me just how much jittery energy I really do get & how much stuff I'm getting done, even taking a minute or two here & there to CoSo.

Wouldn't buy one to save my life tho', given the issues the cars can have, the company's general lack of quality testing, poor customer service, & Musk being a total chode. F that guy.

I took a Lyft the other day; the driver's car was a Tesla.

I can see the appeal. That was one sexy car. Design is gorgeous, sleek, minimalist.

@Watercolorstain YUUUUP. One of my favorite Internet classics is the essay, "The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion". An oldie but a goodie. joycearthur.com/abortion/the-o

If pro-life people are going to push the narrative & belief that personhood starts at conception, I'm very curious to see just how far they'll really go with it.

Trying a different tack, by reminding myself that nobody is going to remember my fuckups in 100 years. Plus, I'll be dead anyway.

I'm absolutely slammed at work right now - it's the busy part of the year for me - & so stressed about it I'm paralyzed. The adage I usually use isn't helping: "The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time."

Shitty day today. I feel like I'm failing at everything, fucking up work, made huge life-altering mistakes, just generally feeling like a total fuckup all around, even though anything I've done really isn't that serious or awful in broad human terms.

Downloaded a garden planning app. I have a draft plan for the front cottage garden now.

I just ordered bookshelves & a headboard for the new house & I'm sitting here this evening making plans for a front yard garden.
