@ChickenMama707 Aw thanks :) :) :)
@ChickenMama707 @ContentWarningVirusB42 Yeah I work at a hospital, not in billing or insurance but I'd heard about the X number of denials thing. Roomie is still mad enough to keep trying, at least so far.
In a way I gotta admire his tenacity, I would've given up long ago. Which is what they want.
@ChickenMama707 @ContentWarningVirusB42 That's what I've heard, & that's awesome. Good news is we're in a way liberal state with plenty of bleeding-heart Dems & a few of the more moderate, old-school Rs.
Many programs require that ppl have no assets to qualify. Roomie has a retirement fund, back from the day when he could work (and did - worked his ass off)... but he doesn't have the paperwork for it. His ex was in charge of their finances & kept such info under lock & key, so when she kicked him out, she kept it.
@ContentWarningVirusB42 Yeah definitely. Once he comes to an end of this particular round of bullshit, roomie is planning to make social welfare activism a big part of his life. And yes, writing to representatives &c. Totally.
Last year, roomie applied for housing assistance. Their application made its way through one of the local orgs over the course of about 5 months or so. At the end, roomie got a letter denying their application. When they called to ask why, they found out a) they already had a duplicate application in, & b) funding ran out a couple months previous so too bad, so sad.
