Which best describes you, US retirees?
"Retired early" means before age 65.
"Retired later" means after age 65.
I am struggling with the when-to-retire decision. Tell me about your regrets if you wish.

We just might have enough income for me to retire at 63 & buy my health insurance on the exchanges until I'm 65. My biggest fear is that what looks like an adequate middle-class income now, even if we stay thrifty, will become a poverty-level income in 20+ years.

Heavily influenced by experiencing my mother outlive her assets, go on SNAP, and need subsidized care when she went into assisted living. I have no kids to look after my needs if I develop Alzheimers like she did at age 80.
