Trump is reminding me of Hitler's last days. Hitler went from fervently believing that Germany could still win, even when the Allies were closing in from east and west, to believing that in defeat Germany would find a cleansing ordeal from which it would rise again, like a phoenix. His suicide would be part of that Romantic, even Wagnerian, narrative.
Not that Donald will take it that far; he doesn't have the Russian Army closing in on him.

"State appropriations for West Virginia University fell nearly 36 percent from 2013 to 2022. Republicans have controlled the state legislature since 2015."

Hey, what's this trout doing in the milk?

Next time you go to the bank, be sure to thank the teller for not running off to Brazil with your savings.

"Republicans saved democracy in 2020"

A more accurate headline might have been "Some Republicans took a short break from destroying democracy" or "Turns out some Republicans have limits after all."

"Though secular and socially liberal himself, Mr. Netanyahu was then forced to retain power by allying solely with ultranationalists and ultraconservatives...."

So that's not just a GOP thing.

Is it just me, or does it really seem like SCOTUS is issuing less outrageous rulings since their ethics came under closer scrutiny?

Pollyanna Award goes to Drumpf campaign spokesman Steven Cheung: “Sure there’s some legal stuff, but for the majority of the day we did some very positive things.”

"Some legal stuff" is a great way to describe getting arraigned on 37 counts, any one of which could land you in prison for 20 years.

It's looking like the Trump/DeSantis wing of the GOP (what we used to call the lunatic fringe) is targeting transpeople to be their Public Enemy #1 for fundraising and voter motivation. Because targeting abortion rights and same-sex couples doesn't get the traction it used to.

I.e., they're targeting my family. Bad move, guys.

Too delicious for words:

"All three candidates were endorsed by former President Donald Trump and echoed his false claims of a stolen election — although Dixon pivoted away from her earlier statements after she won the Republican primary for governor."

Yep, all our elections are fraudulent except the one that got me in.

When TFG finally accepts that he's going down, he'll repent. It'll be the biggest repentance in history, believe me. He'll set up a foundation to fight toxic and divisive politics. And that'll be his new grift.
