"The top pollster also found that Americans tend to favor the Republicans on top issues, including the economy...." (from a Newsweek story, but this link goes straight to the source, Gallup.)

Good God, have people forgotten 2008?

And how is it that Gallup's report doesn't mention abortion rights? Ten states are voting on that this year (yeah, I always love it when people's rights come up for a vote).

@ImagineThat

I see articles like this and remind myself that far too many of these polls still rely on people with land lines who are willing to talk to strangers.

Which is a certain demographic, for sure.

I put no faith in polls since they told me Hillary was guaranteed to win in 2016.

@Tarnagh Agreed. It's a "fog of war" situation: if we get bad news, we know it's unreliable so we mustn't give up; if we get good news, we know it's unreliable so we have to keep fighting.
I'll be so glad when that rotten orange is finally thrown into the compost bin of history. And even then his partisans will be looking for their next Führer. I wonder if we could get Germany to send some folks over to run a denazification program like we did for them after World War II.
