I don't really buy the idea that having a good, hard-working, wholesome, Middle American family man on the D ticket will help with 'centrist Rs.' First, because is there really such a thing anymore? Second, if you look at the crowds at Trump rallies and CPAC and Turning Point and the other right-wing gatherings, where do you see good, hard-working, wholesome, Middle American families? They only show up in R advertising and memes, not on the ground.
@DavidSalo I don't know if Dave Reichert qualifies as a Republican centrist, but he wasn't MAGA enough for the Washington state GOP -- Trump didn't endorse him, he said zip about Trump -- so they got behind a MAGA clown, and in yesterday's primary Reichert crushed that clown 3 to 1.
WA looks blue from a distance, but most of its counties vote red -- but maybe not all that red.
