Mom loved flowers. The local florist loved seeing me on mom's bday and for mothers day. Go in and say "I want $300 of flowers in a vase for my mom again."

She has a collection of vases because of that. Made the whole house smell amazing for a few days each time I did that.

Mom had a good funeral service. Downside, my aunts, and dad likely all have covid now. Positive tests and symptoms.

Omg if 2023 was a person I would drag then outside by their hair and kick the shit out of them.

@LauraKCurtis Oh, believe me, I'm not so old school to hold it all in like my dad. No I've been letting it out!

However, I have more comfort in crying in private with my mate than in the grocery store.

As a dude, we typically only show the motions of being hungry, horny, angry, tried, and excited.

The other other emotions can fuuuuuck oooooff! But they don't :) Still, they are here today. Got to handle them.

@Armchaircouch it went well, shared a lot of good family stories. bitter sweet doing that.

Dinner was a hit, nothing too super fancy, just great steaks and good sides.

Today is the day of mom's service. Getting all primp and preen.

New suit, razor shaved, smell good stuff, just a few hours to go.

Special family dinner was successful.

Pastor came over to dad's today and we got to share memories of mom with him.

Tonight I am cooking a big special meal for all the family. Good food to help the heartache of loss.
