HiRISE 3D: A Spooky Crater

There are lots of secondary craters in this area that are well preserved, yet the main crater is extremely shallow, probably due to relaxation in ice-rich ground .

@HiRISE That looks suspiciously like D.R. from D.R. & Quinch, an Alan Moore/Alan Davis comic about two interstellar juvenile delinquents. Among their antics is graffiti-ing planets.

@HiRISE "...relaxation in ice-rich ground."
Perhaps, due to its melting?
Will take "scientists" some time to reach this conclusion.

@Kittiekatt53 Contraction and expansion of ground ice is the hypothesis.

Not sure why the word scientists is put in quotes, but, okay.
