The more I learn about nuclear power and the associated processes, regulations, and safety culture in modern plants, the more I'm convinced we NEED nuclear energy in order to combat climate change.
@Hettivong Boosting, because even though I disagree with you on the matter, I think it is a really important topic, and all sides need to be heard.
@Hettivong Nuclear power is a way to burn off irrecoverable resources cheaply and right away, so a few people in the energy industry can make bank, while endangering us and anyone who comes after.
Nuclear regulations have also been made so that only the very most expensive and dangerous and hard-to-maintain types of power plants are built, so that only the wealthiest organizations can participate.
We don't need nuclear to stop climate change. We need to stop using the things that cause it.
