Visiting my folks for Thanksgiving. Spent a couple hours raking & bagging leaves in their yard. It was a common childhood chore, but I don't have any big trees near my own yard, so I haven't done it in a long time.
sweet and papery
crushing bags of autumn leaves
how i’ve missed that scent
sweeping windshield whorls
half-formed first fall frost, still soft
wiped in just one sweep
There's this one intersection on my way in to work where they congregate. I can barely see them at that hour, but I sure can hear them...
boisterous corvid chorus
the unseen murder cawing
their pre-dawn gossip
first flurries of fall
far more engrossing than the
spreadsheet on my screen
as the rising seas
slowly swallow their culture
a desperate archive
an island in a bottle
digital dystopia
#Tuvalu : The disappearing island nation recreating itself in the #metaverse
@Kaysymmetry Journaling has definitely helped me sort through some things, since it forces me to organize my thoughts. Hope it helps you, too!
pausing just to listen
the routine rush of rainfall
after a long drought
