New Artist - just starting out. Unsure if he has the talent to make it as an artist. What do you think?

@LnzyHou I think he does have promise. I do enjoy that perspective he captured though.

@LnzyHou yes rocks could use more depth to them, more shadowing maybe? Still. I am so envious of his deft touch with the water...I think he definitely has promise - he also does pet portraits to help pay for college.

I owned an art gallery in CO decades ago. The ocean is by far the most difficult to capture. His translucence is amazing.

@LnzyHou Once taught a semester of Art Appreciation to incoming freshman. It was so much fun. I was always trying to find stuff that would capture their imaginations. I learned a lot from them and their critiques of the works.

@Greytdog I think that's incredible work, and the artist needs to let himself recognize it. (It's so hard when we're all our own worst critics).
I would think that anyone with that depth of skill could find a career/future as an artist.
