Have you flown on any of these defunct airlines?
TWA, Northwest Orient, Pan-AM, Braniff, Eastern, SwissAir, Thomas Cook, Allegheny/USAir/USAirways, Continental, Aloha

On one trip in 1974 we flew from Philly to Chicago on TWA. Then it was Northwest Orient on planes of decreasing size to Minneapolis, Bismarck, Billings, then to Missoula. If we had gone to Idaho we would be flapping our arms.

@Graci used to fly on US Air all the time. They were pretty much the default for getting in and out of Philly. Haven't flown in years. Didn't even know they were gone. I know I've flown TWA and Pan_Am over the years, as well.

@Graci I spent hours and hours trapped on a Braniff on the ground. That was the last time for them.

@Graci in fairness, Eastern, TWA, and Pan Am all had years where they were good. That was just a long time ago.

@Graci

well they merged with Delta, so they're not technically defunct, but I flew on Western too. if you add Southwest, i got the compass points covered.

@Graci Ha! I've flown on most of those: TWA, Northwest Orient, Pan-AM, Braniff, Eastern, Allegheny/USAir/USAirways, Continental, plus others. Allegheny was fondly called Agony Airlines.

@Graci So where's Piedmont? Air Wisconsin? How about Tower air?
