Saddened about the trajectory of an anti-transgender bill in TN. If made law, the bill will force trans youth to detransition, remove kids from homes if parents provide affirming care, and charge those parents with child abuse. It also penalizes doctors who provide such care and makes it illegal for trans youth to seek affirming care from telemedicine or another state.
The bill was advanced from state Senate subcommittee 8-1. It advanced in the state house as well.

@Graci It's pure evil.
And make no mistake, it will pass. The bigots have gerrymandered their way into supermajorities in both houses and Bill Lee has openly expressed his hatred for #trans people -- going so far as to cut HIV prevention funding on the basis that a transgender group was receiving funds.
The courts will have to settle this one, unfortunately :(
@lenaoflune The problem I see is that it won't be settled anytime soon. We'll be weaponized and ostracized until they find another group.

And so they spite their faces because I'm holding off on investing more in the area because I'm not sure yet if I'm going to have to flee.
