Is there an event or reason that 11/20 was chosen as the Remembrance Day?

@Megalicious I actually don't know how it ended on the 20th. Rita Hester was killed on 11/28/99 and her vigil on 12/4. This is what prompted Gwen Smith to start TDOR. (Lovely woman btw)
