#Cosomovies #AsteroidCity OK, I just finished watching Asteroid City. I'm sitting here wondering what the hell I just watched. Anybody have any comments or observations?
@see_the_sus I've seen a bunch, all very recently, and I generally like em and see where he's going with his convoluted plots and storytelling. This one I was really looking forward to, but i'm left feeling kinda "meh" about the whole thing.
@GlennS I've wanted to se that. Of course, I also like David Byrne and Michael Nesmith movies.🙂
@VanontheBorder Well, this has a lot in common with them, weird for the sake of being weird, but unlike Wes Anderson's usual movies, this one really doesn't tell an overall story, or at least not in a way that is as engaging as his better fare. Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom really were tightly written. Tons of details, but it all tied together with a ribbon and a bow. Asteroid City was beautifully stylish but at least after initial viewing, it feels off. Didn't make sense to me.
@GlennS
Comment from a person who hasn’t seen it and probably won’t; every time I try to watch a Wes Anderson movie I get about 1/2 way in, scratch my head in confusion, and go and watch something else.
