@Gerry We need more of this from CEOs, labor leaders, clergy, politicians, civic leaders and organizers, athletes, non-profits, arts organizations, influencers, educators, scientists, etc.. The messaging needs to be pervasive.

Unfortunately, I think he undermined his message by espousing the traditional conservative view that if you’re poor, it’s because you just didn’t work hard enough.
In this new gilded age, even being hardworking, white, and male is no guarantee of success. Some of those he’s trying to reach know perfectly well that they work “hard enough”, and it’s not their fault that they’re not successful. They’re just blaming the wrong people. He probably lost them right there.
