Holy cow, I just found out you can buy a house in Italy starting at $1!!
(You have to agree to fix it up to code and move there, of course.) But . . . I think I found a retirement destination!

Sardinia, an island off the coast. Remote.
This isn’t the original article I read, but they mention the $1 houses. The other article said there were no restrictions. Like a lot of countries don't want senior citizens (pensioners), etc. I guess unless you're filthy rich, then you. An do what you want.
