Our first #harvest of the season. Have to say I'm rather #disappointed in these #tomatoes🍅 . Their tag said they're called "July 4th." 🤨 I assumed they would be an early type and thought they would be bigger. #NotImpressed
🍅
Why do I even bother with this garden stuff?

My DIL very disappointed with her garden yield this year. She attributes it to dramatic weather swings.
@LnzyHou My neighbors haven't had much luck either.
If you figure out the 'why do I bother' question let me know. 😉
@GeezerWench looks nice to me. all red and tasty looking
my ''zesty tangy'' tomatoes kinda looks like this, awesome in a sandwich.
(iirc' ''july 4th'' are supposed to be a ''small'' variety)
@BLuOXide Silly me, thinking they would be bigger.
I should have bought the Early Girls like I have before.
kinda did the same last year. when i planted a variety that gave ''cooking'' tomatoes.
couldn't understand why my tomatoes were super hard and small,
@BLuOXide There's so many breeds of tomatoes. Or species or whatever. Types. Kinds.
I just want to eat them. lol
@GeezerWench July 4th is a salad type tomato, so bigger than a cherry tomato, but much smaller than a beefsteak/slicing tomato
@redenigma No kiddin'! I should have looked them up before I bought the plants.
@GeezerWench tomatofest is a great resource to look up varieties

and if you're a tomato addict, i apologize in advance for enabling...
@redenigma Thanks. I am a tomato addict. About mid-March I start Jonesin' for tomato sandwiches.
@GeezerWench But you can grow them. I moved from KC to NE WI and I can't get a good tomato of any size. Honestly, if I'd known that, I wouldn't have moved here.
