@Gambit_1 In order for the people trying to correct them to have any effect they would have to interrupt the message between the senders and the recipients, correct it, and send it on.

Because when the right wing politician/pundit/media sends out the lie, it becomes truth on impact.

It all translates to "Those damn [insert slur] are at it again."

Doesn't matter if we come along after the fact and say "That's not what it means at all."

@Gambit_1 It's a strategy they've been using a lot in the last 20 years. Take any subject that has a 'progressive' or 'non-conservative' association with it, and describe it badly. Intentionally mangle the meaning and use and, while doing so, associate it with minority groups, immigration, and/or women's and LGBT rights.
What ends up happening is people on the left waste all their time trying to correct the meaning, when the targets just hear "blah blah white genocide blah blah america first".

Recently, during an evening run, I passed many many people pausing to take pictures of the sunset. People catch different parts, views/locations, and stages of the sunset progression, but all of them are moved to pause and capture the piece of it that they get. In that moment they don’t care that they may have missed when it was more beautiful, or the sun was higher in the sky, or the view may be better someplace else, they are simply struck by the beauty of what THEY have.

Wanted to make guinea pig hammocks with Kidlet but she’s a busy girl. Lol. The Guinea pigs love snuggling inside of them but they’re usually $20 each, new. Someone gave us the ones we have but it’d be nice to have them for all of them. I just realized I’m out of sewing thread, though! All of this beading thread but I wouldn’t waste it on sewing. I just cut up a pair of old sweater pants and, of course, everything closes early around here. It’s nice that we don’t have many big box stores but…
