@Qbae I definitely have to share this one with my husband, who has been a middle school band director for most of his band teaching career. 😹
@GEAUXJayna ayyy!! I was one for 3 years and then they cut the music program. I still do individual lessons but having a classroom I could encourage to play the nerdiest arrangements I could find, was the best part.
@Qbae I hate that music programs are the first to be cut in many cases. I was a band nerd myself, all the way through college. My husband started teaching right out of college, so he’s starting year 25 now. He taught high school band for 5 years, but then went back to reaching middle school, which he likes better, and so do I - he’s able to enjoy way more free time. 👍🏼 He still loves teaching, but being a teacher now is so rough, for many reasons. He’s looking forward to retirement.
