: I do not understand at all how platforms/studios think that if they post a current-release film online for $20 that will do as good a business as the same film in cinemas for less than $20.

Local matinees here are $12. Why would I watch it at home for $8 more? Seriously.

@thedisasterautist I assume this is meant for families? But I agree: I'd much rather go out.

@FranklyCurious: It's not particularly family-focused. It's the pricing just to watch the movies, and it includes arthouse, horror, sci-fi, drama, comedy, R-rated, PG and PG-13, and all. Some come in at $15, though, on streaming.
