it is a good one, lays it all out.
although i have been one of the ones thinking Elon bought it to sink it. since he makes and has made so many ridiculous and anti-democracy comments, i thought it was an Occam's razor thing.
@peeppeepcircus @CLManussier Could be! But Elon Musk always makes me think of the line from Deep Throat in All the President's Men, "Forget the myths the media has created about the White House. The truth is, these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand..." I think he's ruthless but not bright.
yeah, and this was a particularly good (and cutting) line from the article:
"His incompetence should unravel his image as a visionary, one whose ambitions extend as far as colonizing Mars. This reputation as a genius, more than his billions, is Musk’s real fortune; it masks the impetuousness he demonstrates so frequently on Twitter. But Musk has spent this currency recklessly."
but i also find his RWNJ attacks on democracy particularly unnerving, given his wealth
