I just watched Night of the Comet (1984) for the first time in a long time. What a wonderful film! It is exactly what it attempts to be. And features an absolutely perfect script. I watched it on Shudder, but it's available for free on Tubi

@NoraCharles666 Another film Thom Eberhardt directed that I love is Without a Clue (1988). It's a Sherlock Holmes spoof starring Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley. But mine is a minority opinion for some reason!
