@Helical_Code why would you restrict yourself to a list? That seems a little bit like torture...
@Helical_Code so was the trip a list success or did you fail and wander off down the aisles of possibility?
@Foxthorn
Here's the result of the fabric expedition:
Yellow circle: impromptu fat quarter purchase
Red stars: on list
Remaining (red blood cells, coffee beans): earlier Spoonflower purchase.
@Helical_Code I feel like coffee beans and red blood cells would make for good scrubs. What are your plans for this bounty? Or does it have one? I'm not opposed to buying without distinct purpose.
@Foxthorn
We have a colleague who is heading off to start his own lab in about a month. He worked quite a bit on the problem of how red blood cells progress from their progenitors to their final fate. So the main thing I want to make is a drawstring lunch sack with the larger blood cells. The liner will be dolphins, which are an ancient symbol of luck. I haven't worked out yet what I will do with the coffee fabric, but everyone has had coffee with our colleague, and probably hundreds of times.
@Helical_Code what a truly awesome and thoughtful gift.
@Foxthorn I think it was a good compromise between the list and being open to seduction. Pictures within the hour.
