Last post, then off to bed!
I mentioned in a previous post that my dad was 100% Alaska Native. Well, *his* dad was photographed by Edward Curtis in 1928, on King Island, Alaska. Our ancestral homeland, where my dad was born & raised. His one (traditional) name became our last name when the missionaries gave everyone a Christian first name.
Edward Curtis misheard his name, so my grandfather is memorialized as Nuktaya.
His photo is below.

UVALDE: A mother is filing lawsuits against the city of Uvalde, the school district AND the gunmaker. They are seeking damages for the trauma and PTSD the children are experiencing, like fears of being left alone and daily anxiety after surviving the mass shooting that left 19 student and 2 teachers dead.
