A little bit about my roots:
My granny Lenchen lived in Nazi Germany and organized secret resistance meetings in her orchard.
She called those conventions “birthday parties”, so that her neighbors would not suspect anything. This meant that everyone at the tables had to display an exuberant party mood, even if they just lost someone, and the discussion topics were about life and death.
I often think of Granny Lenchen, and do not allow myself to let courage or hope die.
@CajunBlueAZ1 You're doing great and I am glad you found us here.
It's like the difference between being at your local library, and being at a Costco on a Saturday morning. It's just nicer here.
I worked hard and played hard in HS and college. Graduated and had a career in medical case mgt. Married since I was 22 and we have a couple of amazing teens. I had a bithalamic hemorrhagic stroke in 10/2020 from Yaz. I am still putting myself together, but I am here for it. I relearned how to crochet and I sell cell pouches on Etsy for fun/therapy, but I miss having a career. I have volunteered for dem candidates since 2018. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a crazy vet bill. 🐾🌵
I have not seen that here.
The constant endorphin rush of being angry is not what I will miss about Twitter. What I will miss are my friends. Thousands of people I met and worked with over years.
The hostility and seeking out arguments had started to become me. We make sacrifices to be the best versions of ourselves.
CounterSocial is my new home. There is a culture shock, and I am wading through it as best as I can.
@racouncil What he lacks is HUMANITY. They still don't understand.
"Where are my push notifications?"
There are none, and that's by design.
In order to serve you push notifications, CounterSocial would have to remain connected to your device at all times. That's kind of creepy if you really think about it, so we don't do that here. #CoSoTips

Hi, Everyone!
I just realized something about how the wholesome nature of the community here on CoSo has been affecting my mental health:
It’s not just that you can have a friendly and polite conversation with strangers here, or that you don’t constantly have to have your hackles up, ready to smack down rude comments or trolls. . . I realized that since I’ve been here, I’ve stopped doom scrolling. Thank you CoSo, for being a community that supports my mental health!
This is the district previously represented by (R) House Rep who voted to impeach...
and then her primary was lost to America First guy -- who is very popular in my particular county.
And a daring Dem was the only alternative to having a Fascist representative in the House, and she won.
WA03 should be MUCH bigger news.
