@Notokay Wood fires are amazing. I miss having one. But the joy of sleeping on Mommy is best of all!
@Florence I agree. I must confess that if I were to choose between wood fires and a kitty, I would choose the latter every time. Sadly, I have neither at the moment. (And obviously that was "my heretofore," not some weird pirate English, in my previous post! Proofreading skills deteriorate as caffeine recedes.)
@Notokay I understood it fine. I'm the official queen of typos! Cats for me every time too. Flossie is warmer than a fire to me. 😻
@Florence It's amazing that they can be so small yet generate so much heat.
@Notokay Truly. Flossie is like being covered in hot water bottles, wriggling ones!
@Florence A yes, the wriggles. Somehow my Freya put up with my own tossing and turning, though.
@Florence Would that electrical failure were not an option, particularly in winter! A wood-burning fireplace or stove is helpful, though it of course brings other challenges. When we lost power for 5 days after Hurricane Sandy, I slept on the couch in front of the fireplace, and that's when me heretofore standoffish colorpoint Siamese suddenly discovered the joys of sleeping on Mama.
