To the I'm-not-voting-because-nothing-gets-done crowd:

Do you know how to make Congress work again? Put a majority of 218+ Dem and Independent reps in the House, and a "super" majority of 60+ in the Senate.

Do you know how they would get there? Voting.

You can't accomplish this if you don't vote.

Good morning CoSovians. 🌞
Travel day. Slept little to wake at 5 for early flight. Then all day in Old San Juan before the next flight this evening. Then overnight layover and 2 more flights before arrival. I love OSJ and that will be a mini-vacation. Overnight in an airport not so much.

Travel is fun. /s

Here's another benefit of LEDs. The power is out, but apparently a few volts are rolling in because my LEDs are on and my ceiling fans are turning. Slowly, but I bumped them up to high and they're moving at about slow speed. Okay even as I typed this the power came back on. But that's pretty neat.

The term "Luddite" as a pejorative synonym for "technophobe" was a technocrat PR coup; that's not what Luddites were about. They were a labour movement fighting to give workers control over technologies which were advancing w/o oversight and rapidly automating them out of their jobs. Sound familiar?

Yesterday I put BroomHilda upstairs to clean up while I went out. Later that evening I thought to look for her, probably out of gas and looking for her home base which was downstairs, she was nowhere to be found.

Today I went out on the ledge looking and found her hiding around the corner. She had to open a screen door and drop down an inch and a half to get out there. I don't think I overwork her, just a couple times a week. I think she's online planning a strike with others. Watch your vacs!

Good morning my fine CoSovians. Take some time this day to sit a minute or two, or longer, quietly contemplating no-thing.

A couple of thoughts from Alan Watts to start your ruminations off. "This is it, and that's all."

And "You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop."

☮️ and 💙 everyone.

If only we could follow suit with TFG.

@Alfred what is the collective name for a group of ravens, or a pair, which is more usual.

"In a prior study, the researchers also assessed driving ability during a simulation, and notably they found that daily cannabis consumers had an average five times the THC concentration in their blood after the 30-minute mark compared to occasional users—yet the latter group “showed evidence of decrement in their driving skills, whereas that wasn’t statistically significant in the daily users.”"

Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco has a unique opportunity to kick some badly neeglected legal proceedings in to gear while AG Garland is out with back surgery....just saying. I don't know who she is or how inclined she would be, but wouldn't that be a hoot?

Memory is such a fickle thing; "Stepped on a pop top, cut my heel had to cruise on back home..."

My collection from my walk down the beach yesterday, picked up an antique. For all you young-uns out there confused by the Jimmy Buffet lyrics;

🎵 Cut my heel on a pop-top, had to cruise on back home.🎶

Alrighty then. 6 hours of sleep and here comes the sun! Good morning folks. Let's make it a day to be proud of. Coffee, eat your Wheaties, and git 'er done! ✌️and 🫶 everybody!

Good morning CoSo! ☕
Spent yesterday pm finding and booking flights. have to return to CO to do election work for late Feb/Mar, then return. Used AA points outbound, then I found return flights 3 weeks later from $98 to $117 and a bit more. Began booking, they went up to ~$550 as I booked. Had to spend hours finagling, and finally got an acceptable "hacker*" flight for just over $200. (*2 separate bookings via KIWI) which took a couple hours to "confirm" with both airlines. Spg break price incr?

Another thought I've had is that if I have a column dedicated to , then should be filtered out of my other columns. Otherwise I see the same post multiple times. Like, My Friends would't also show up in the Firehose.

I have a politics/Ukraine column that could be "pulled out" of the other columns.

Am I just being that guy?
Apologies to J for perhaps nitpicking on his wonderful site.

✌️and🤟 everyone.
