Alrighty then. 6 hours of sleep and here comes the sun! Good morning folks. Let's make it a day to be proud of. Coffee, eat your Wheaties, and git 'er done! ✌️and 🫶 everybody!

Good morning CoSo! ☕
Spent yesterday pm finding and booking flights. have to return to CO to do election work for late Feb/Mar, then return. Used AA points outbound, then I found return flights 3 weeks later from $98 to $117 and a bit more. Began booking, they went up to ~$550 as I booked. Had to spend hours finagling, and finally got an acceptable "hacker*" flight for just over $200. (*2 separate bookings via KIWI) which took a couple hours to "confirm" with both airlines. Spg break price incr?

Another thought I've had is that if I have a column dedicated to , then should be filtered out of my other columns. Otherwise I see the same post multiple times. Like, My Friends would't also show up in the Firehose.

I have a politics/Ukraine column that could be "pulled out" of the other columns.

Am I just being that guy?
Apologies to J for perhaps nitpicking on his wonderful site.

✌️and🤟 everyone.

I think I've suggested before, and not gotten much positive response. It's a chore for J @th3j35t3r for sure. It's . How difficult to have a pop-up list of most used tags appear to choose from before you can hit POST?

We can filter (or search) our experience all we want, but not easily without them.

This was brought to mind by another's post this morning about the plethora of politics here. Some do not wish to see any, I filter some (like *rump*) but this year will stress some folks

Good morning all my 'nauties!
I hope you're all well.

It is sliding into the last week of the first month of 2024. Holy cow how did that happen? Time dilation?

Ich habe meinen Kaffee ☕ getrunken.

And now it's time to get something done.

Dropping the truck for brake work - again. They'll do it until it's done right. /sigh

...However: “This is a wonderful day. I have never seen this one before.”

He closes; Thank you for that thought, Maya Angelou!

...And that even was prolonged into young adulthood and even into college—not the playing so much, but the nicely normal feeling of most every day. That is no longer the reality of course—but simply wanting what used to be a “normal day” like that is where I am in this moment on this morning of this day. It is profoundly sad to me—tear causing sad—that it is seemingly no longer possible for this to be the reality. Such is life.

From a friend of mine, a United Methodist Pastor who writes essays regularly. Reflecting on his/our childhood, inspired by a Maya Angelou quote, which is at the bottom.

"We didn’t think about the political issues that affected us—or the financial ones—or the education ones—or the health ones—or the town, county, state, country, or international ones.

We just played as if there was not a care in the world about which to be concerned. And for much of my childhood there was not.

Mmmm, coffee, black, hot. ☕
With each sip,
Slowly priming the cylinders,
Steaming flavors inhaled,
Clearing the sinuses,
Wakefulness rises in me,
Like the dawning sun.
Good morning 🌞 everyone.

Welp, frozen pipe upstairs, comes a warmer day, it leaks across the bathroom floor, down the wall to kitchen, and basement. I'm not there. I don't know why I didn't think to simply shut off the water upstairs in case. I did turn the heat up in the house when I heard the cold snap was coming. /sigh

DNR boys hung out with us for a while in the mangrove cay shallows. It was kind of windy and rough so we hung out protected from the winds. Took a short swim to chase my hat and cleaned the sides of the boat, had breakfast snacks and good times. No whales. 🐳 That would have been a long rough ride out to them.

Morning chilly 'nauts. Hope you are all well, with no broken/frozen pipes nor heating sources. I hate to rub it in, but it's 73°f 🌞at 0730 here, and I'm going out boating and maybe seeing some whales 🐳 if I can persuade the captain to go a bit farther out than she's planning. 😉

Good day all!

Gone, gone, gone beyond, gone altogether beyond, O what an awakening, all-hail!

Good Friday 🌅 my friends! ☕ in hand, dropped truck to fix brakes. Headed to a new bakery for breakfast, then some beach time. All of you in the path of all that nasty weather. Please take care and stay warm. 🔥

Looks like an innovative way to lower student debt costs or eliminate them for most people. It gets around the Republicans trashing biden's student loan forgiveness. First I have seen of this. It needs to get wider attention.

I just watched the first three or four episodes and it's great of course. It's just great to see again.

Shoot - now I don't know if I saw this here or not, but prime video now has all seasons of Northern Exposure available. It hasn't been available for years because of music copyright issues.

Good morning everyone. ☕

I should be on a flight to Santa Marta, Colombia right now, but COPA cancelled the flight since the FAA grounded their 737's.

I'm okay with that, though it cancels my whole 10 day trip, 2 hotels to deal with, and another flight. I'll likely get credits all around.

I'd rather be here, as I think I need to call the coroner, I have a man-cold. 🤧

I'll reschedule for next month, if I survive. :WilLongAndProsper:
