Good Monday all! Here's hoping you have a week filled with joy and good works. Time for .

Rubber bullets that are supposed to be shot from no less than 70 ft away were fired basically point blank. At a plainly marked member of the press.

Good morning all. I haven't made coffee yet. I see that overnight in San Juan, Police have been shooting rubber bullets and tear gas at citizens protesting the now privately owned electric company LUMA over constant electric outages and increasing rates on the island. More colonial $$ extraction from the island.

I met with a potential investor today with a high net-worth. He told me that my startup idea was "brilliant." We talk again next week. It's been a good day.

Well, good morning all. and Smoothie done. Update on pergola project. Yesterday I rigged a 3-line block and tackle, started with the smaller stuff to test it out and managed to haul all my timbers up to the roof yesterday. Yes, lots of walking up and down to rig the next item and then back up to the roof to pull it up. My calves are sore today, but it worked out fabulously. The only thing left is to pull up the 26 ga. roof panels - later.

Good morning πŸŒ„
Breakfast is served; fried potatos & onions and an egg, with Amarillas fritas.

Tried taking a time lapse of setting a post. 5x is kind of like an old timey silent movie. Maybe I'll try 10x or 50x next. Note my steel-toed chanklas.

Base of 4x4s cut for posts. Also, I got a new friend from some folks I know on a nearby farm. Now friend lives next door in the rundown house with the chickens. They sure have been quiet since. 🀫

Cut a couple more posts for temporary railing. No final design yet, just a 2x4 railing using future rafters. Might use corrugated panels. Hauled up most the lighter lumber overhanding a rope. Got some pulleys to rig a block and tackle for the 6x6s and 2x6-16s that are left. Tomorrow.

First a railing...got most of the posts up between rainstorms. No splinters. Yet. Another shower, a couple 🍻, and off to find something for dinner.

Watching Eddie Izzard 2022 Wonderbar show. 80 minutes of rapid fire twisted storytelling. Eddie is amazing. Love them!

Good morning folks! Here's what a 16x16 pergola looks like. Some assembly required. Does not include batteries.

Well here's most of the load, later I got 8 2x6x16s and 2 4x4x12s on the roof rack and drove 15 miles or so carefully home.

It was interesting but it worked just fine.πŸ˜‰πŸ‘

Good Morning! This is number two, the first one was 3 to 4 a.m. I'll make this one work - up and off to make coffee.

Off to see how much lumber a Honda Element can haul. Building a large rooftop pergola.

I think 6x6-8s, 4x4+8s 2x4-8s, should fit in back with the gate down. If that's not too much weight, the 2x8-16s will go up top on the rack, with pool noodles for additional support.

Then I've got to get it all up on the 2nd story roof

I miss my Tundra and utility trailer.

I just had a big ol' 14 year old boy (6+ ft, baby face) guess my age as 35, certainly not more than 40.

I'm guessing there's a lot we kind of expect younger people to know that just ain't so, Joe.

I guessed his age at 18 because he was so big but thought he looked younger. And because he guessed my age of 35. πŸ˜‰

I love that when I get an invoice from my cleaners QuickBooks and I click on the link it goes to a plain http site, not https. And then I insert my credit card information. 😱
