My husband rescued this crepe myrtle from the clearance rack 3 years ago. It was about a day away from being put in the store dumpster. Basically just a dry stick.

It was a late planting. He babied it through its first winter.

It seems appreciative. ❀️ It's now higher than the garage roof.

@Agatha For what it's worth: I too, believed I had a black thumb until I re-inherited a hoya plant (long story) from a friend moving to Thailand. After three years, this beauty is blooming twice a year, and has completely taken over a window with blinds.

I love it! I do have some lucky with getting seeds going. But after that I pass the seedlings to my husband. Between us, we manage. πŸ˜‚
