I'm definitely here for toad sex
@researchbuzz
Shhhh. I got my lotion out for this. Usually I just spit.
@researchbuzz
For real though, are toads just bad at sex? Is this a Giant Panda situation? What's going on?
@researchbuzz
Well, this conversation was already productive, as I've learned now what a "bollard" is. A term that I had never known to exist until this day.
@rokkinbobokkin @researchbuzz
😆 😆 😆 I'm a Navy vet-bollard is a pretty standard term in that line of work...LoL'd at both those toots!!
@FayreLylith @researchbuzz
When I googled it, I saw traffic obstructions that looked like short poles. Pretty common sight that I never considered knowing a name for.
Though, sounds like a good name for a boat hitch too
@FayreLylith @researchbuzz
Oooh. Yeah, I don't know much about Navy things, but we have a commercial port on Lake Erie, but it used to be the kind of place your parents don't want you to be. Those things are over there.
@rokkinbobokkin @researchbuzz yeah....i think i've seen them used for traffic control, but mostly i've seen them used to moor up ships. You'd def see them anyplace where large ships pulled in anywhere.
@FayreLylith @researchbuzz we have a port for cargo ships, usually from Canada.
"Bollard" when I googled it , as a Britishism just showed me the ones you might see planted in the sidewalk at a gas station, to keep people from driving into the glass doors.
I guess they all get to share that term now.
@rokkinbobokkin @researchbuzz I didn't know those little guys were called bollards too...just did some googling around-that's interesting. I would've called those posts...
@rokkinbobokkin @researchbuzz Here's one in use:
