I'm supposed to sleep "without pets in my bed" tonight as tomorrow is my knee surgery. How am I supposed to tell my cat she can't join me on my last night at home???
@Teej_Muk Okay..that to me is overkill. As many surgeries as I've had..including an arthroscopic knee surgery to trim back cartilage that was protruding through an area it shouldn't and ream out some arthritis that was causing severe pain, I've never been advised to forgo sleeping with my cats nor have I ever had any negative consequences from doing so which is why I found that instruction to be odd. Hope your procedure went well and you're happily sleeping with your kitty again 🙂

The cat decided to not sleep with me the night before surgery after all. I don't understand that rule either. I spent 10 days in the hospital after my knee replacement surgery. Wasn't even home 48 hrs and I had to have an emergent appendectomy overnight last night. My cat is going to be so confused as to where I am (again)!

Something about eliminating germs/microbes/infections, etc. I also showered tonight with antibacterial soap, and will shower again in the morning with a special antimicrobial cleanser. It's kinda an ordeal but that's what the hospital says to do so 🤷♀️
