It's ant season again. I swear my house sits on the granddaddy of all anthills!! Backyard is nothing but streams of ants and we've had multiple incursions into our house already. Got a 10lb bag of food grade diatomaceous earth for the yard and any crevasses in the house and several bottles of Zevo. It's tough to keep ahead of it with so many cats, thus many bowls of cat food and 5 water fountains. I did find out last year that ants don't die when microwaved. 🤬

@Embers Boric acid powder or boric acid in suspended gel (Terro) works good on the inside where pets can't lick it.

You may be opposed to poisons but Amdro is supposedly safe to use on fire ants.

@ThisNameWasntTaken Thank goodness I don't have fire ants..just the usual run of the mill sugar ants. Yeah as many cats as I have finding a place they couldn't find and lick anything is virtually impossible. Not opposed to poisons perse just prefer organic stuff that targets specific bugs without harming other bugs or animals.

@Embers Sugar ants are a pain. Here in Florida we have these tiny ants called "crazy ants" because they run around crazily with no discernible pattern. They are really hard to get rid of.

@ThisNameWasntTaken That doesn't sound fun to deal with. At least sugar ants are fairly predictable...but they also bite. I have itchy bites all over my body from the damned things!!
