Had a raccoon yesterday afternoon drinking water from our pool. Noticed she was limping so put food and fresh water outside where we think she's denning. Last night her limp was worse and she's in no shape to fight the other raccoons coming to our yard. It also became clear that she has kitts hidden away somewhere as she's obviously been nursing. Going to try to find the den with her babies today and try to trap her and the babies to take to a friend who's a wildlife rehabilitator.

@Embers
Thank you for being kind to animals. Be careful, please.

@Shenango_Linda Thank you, we will be. We've rescued raccoons before that got some pretty bad burns in the easement fire behind our house, one a baby in bad shape, was an easy grab, the adult wasn't as injured and was tougher. Have never tried to capture a mama raccoon and babies before..Will definitely be wearing protective layers if we find them!
